Acceptable Use Policy

Effective October 15, 2026 (first published June 1, 2026). Operator: Ardonis LLC. Part of the Terms of Service. Self-prepared; not reviewed by outside counsel.

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes what you may not upload or do on TableCoach. We enforce it with automated checks on uploads, reports from the people who use TableCoach, and human review.

What TableCoach is for

TableCoach is for board-game rulebooks and closely related reference material: uploading rulebooks, asking rules questions, and generating setup/teaching helpers. Uploads are checked for relevance; content that isn't a rulebook (or closely related game reference) may be quarantined. It is also for playing games together and keeping up with the people you play with: Game Nights, connections, toasts, comments and messages, and Con Mode at conventions.

Prohibited content

The following are prohibited. These examples are illustrative and not exhaustive. You may not upload, submit, or share:

  1. Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any sexual content involving minors: zero tolerance. When identified, such content will be removed, preserved, and reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by law, and the account will be terminated.
  2. Obscene or pornographic material.
  3. Illegal content, or content that promotes or facilitates serious harm or illegal acts.
  4. Hateful or harassing material targeting people based on protected characteristics.
  5. Infringing material: copyrighted works (including rulebooks) you do not own or have the right to upload and share. See DMCA / Copyright.
  6. Malware, spam, or non-rulebook junk uploaded to abuse the shared library.
  7. Others' private or personal information that you don't have the right to share.

Prohibited behavior

You may not (again, a non-exhaustive list):

  • Attempt to bypass content moderation, rate limits, account suspension, or bans (including via new accounts).
  • Scrape, overload, probe, or attack the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Misattach documents to the wrong game in a way that pollutes the shared library, or deliberately upload near-duplicate or misleading content.
  • Use the Service to generate or distribute prohibited content.
  • Invite people by email who wouldn't expect to hear from you, or use Game Night invitations, groups or messages to send advertising, spam, or anything other than a real game night. Only invite people you know. We limit how many invitations an account can send, and we may stop an account from inviting people when its invitations are reported or bounce.

People, messages and comments

These rules cover everything you post or send to other people: toasts, comments, messages, the note on a connect request, the name you show a convention table, and Players wanted posts. The prohibited content above applies to all of them. You may not:

  • Harass, bully, threaten or insult anyone, or keep contacting someone who has declined your request, disconnected from you or blocked you, including from another account.
  • Send spam, ads, scams or chain messages, or send the same thing to many people, in requests, comments, messages or posts.
  • Send sexual messages to anyone who hasn't welcomed them. Sexual content involving a minor, or contacting a minor for a sexual purpose, is never allowed (see item 1 above).
  • Pretend to be someone else, or use another person's name or picture.
  • Share someone's private information, such as their email address, phone number or where they live, without their permission.
  • Share illegal content, or use messages to plan or promote illegal acts or serious harm.
  • Post Players wanted for seats that aren't real, or use a table label or note to send people anywhere other than your table.
  • Ask to keep a night from a convention table with an email address that isn't yours.
  • Send reports you know are false, or report someone just to cause them trouble.

We limit how many connect requests, comments, messages, reports and Players wanted posts an account can send, and sending connect requests needs a confirmed email address.

Enforcement

Depending on severity and history, and at our discretion, we may:

  • Quarantine an upload for review (it stays out of the public library until cleared);
  • Reject/remove content, including a reported comment, message, Players wanted post or "I'm coming" answer;
  • Apply a strike, which can decay over time;
  • Suspend an account temporarily (e.g., after multiple active strikes);
  • Block/terminate an account for serious or repeated violations.

We maintain an internal audit trail of moderation decisions. For CSAM, enforcement is immediate and includes preservation and reporting as described above. We may change how we enforce this AUP at our discretion.

Reporting and appeals

To report a person, a comment, a message or a Players wanted post, use Report in the app, and a moderator will look at it. We tell a reporter with an account when we have looked, and we never tell the person reported who reported them. You can also block anyone you have played with or have a request or connection with, at any time: they aren't told. To report anything else, or to appeal a moderation decision, contact [email protected]. We review appeals on a case-by-case basis.

Changes

We may update this AUP; material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date.
